• PROCESS OF BLOOD DONATION

Eat a well-balanced meal and plenty of fluids

Avoid smoking cigarettes and alcohol before blood donation

Fill out a donor registration form

Inform the doctor of any medications you are taking or diseases you are suffering from

Submit a small blood sample

Blood is checked for haemoglobin levels

Undergo a medical check up

Once you are cleaned for donation, you can proceed

Sit on a reclined chair

Donating arm will be cleaned with an antiseptic

Only disposable and sterile syringes are used

Donate 350ml or 450ml depending on your weight

Post donation, have refreshments mandatorily

Rest compulsorily for about 10 to 15 minutes
